Helpdesk to cloud architect, manual console-clicking to full IaC and AI automation.
- Rebuilt the entire managed hosting platform from scratch. Replaced the legacy stack with AWS, CloudFormation, Terraform, and proper IaC. Ground-up redesign with governance, compliance frameworks, and no manual deployments.
- Built the company's AI capability end-to-end. Automated support triage, PR reviews, and alert routing. Deployed AWS Bedrock for in-house LLM access. Positioned Accipio as an AI-first Moodle specialist.
- Own the cloud strategy. Cost optimisation, architectural design, upgrade planning, scaling decisions. If it touches AWS, I'm in the conversation.
- Architected Moodle platforms serving 250,000+ users. High availability, performance at scale, zero tolerance for downtime.
- Built a multi-account AWS Organization from the ground up. StackSets, SCPs, SSM Agent, full observability with Grafana, Prometheus, and Loki.
- Drive company direction on emerging tech. AI, security, cloud strategy. When these decisions get made, I'm at the table.
- Run the full stack. Moodle, Grafana, Prometheus, Loki, Tempo, OTEL, Bookstack, Redis, ClamAV, Open WebUI, Docker, Portainer, n8n, LangChain, LangFuse.
- Led cloud infrastructure projects end-to-end. Scoped, designed, and delivered AWS hosting solutions from initial architecture through to production.
- Automated deployment pipelines. Replaced manual releases with CI/CD workflows, cutting deployment time and reducing human error.
- Drove the technical direction for managed hosting. Evaluated tooling, set standards, and made the architectural calls.
- Maintained production LMS infrastructure. Patching, upgrades, and incident response across multiple client environments.
- Managed server deployments and configuration. Provisioned and hardened Linux servers with documented baseline configurations.
- Improved team processes from day one. Identified gaps in workflows and documentation early; the fixes stuck around long after the role changed.
- Managed thousands of servers and databases globally. Kept LMS infrastructure solid for hundreds of thousands of users across Moodle and Totara.
- Worked across a serious toolchain. AWS, Ubuntu Server, Terraform, Foreman, Grafana, Loki, Icinga, and Nessus.
- Led improvements to upgrade processes. Standardised practices and documentation for a fast-growing team.
- Achieved Cyber Essentials Plus accreditation. For both the MSP and its government contract clients.
- Architected resilient networking and storage solutions. High-availability infrastructure for clients who needed it to actually stay up.
- Overhauled internal security policy and process. Improved procedures, documentation, and operational standards.
- Ran system audits and risk assessments. Closed gaps for Protozoon and its clients before they became problems.
- Ran all IT for an 80+ user organisation. Sole owner of infrastructure, applications, and support.
- Consolidated and modernised the server estate. Virtualisation across physical and Hyper-V environments, reducing sprawl and cost.
- Managed 100+ business applications. SME across the full stack, owning supplier relationships and architecture decisions.
- Owned the IT budget and vendor relationships. Purchasing decisions, contract negotiations, cost control.
- Led technical architecture for the website and event platform. Drove design decisions and worked directly with developers.
- Deep on Microsoft infrastructure. Hyper-V, ADFS, AzureAD, Active Directory, SQL Server.
- Provided 1st through 3rd line support across the business. Hyper-V, SQL Server, Active Directory, networking, desktops.
- Led the KnowBe4 security awareness rollout. Configured the platform, ran phishing simulations, delivered training company-wide.
- Re-rolled LastPass across the organisation. Cleaned up the existing mess, set proper policies, trained everyone on actually using it.
- Delivered technical training to non-technical staff. Made people less afraid of their own computers.
- Led a team of analysts delivering operational intelligence. Dashboards, reports, and data pipelines informing senior leadership decisions.
- Built automation for call grading and quality review. Replaced manual processes with automated workflows integrated with HR systems.
- Designed data flows and ETL pipelines across the business. Made sure the right data reached the right people in the right format.
- Heavy on Qlik and SQL. Dashboards, complex queries, data transformation at scale.
